Today I’m glad to share with you another itty bitty baby pattern to help you make adorable outfits in combination with the hospital-type newborn wrap top released here last week.
These pants are slim enough not to bunch up in a big way on those skinny newborn legs, but not too snug either. They come with two options for pocket shapes… number, type and placement is up to you! I used a single back pocket on the featured pants, made using a matching ponte knit. I offer an optional ankle band if you prefer that option to hemming. You may add an optional mock drawstring to the elastic waistband.
These versatile pants can work as a layette staple for both baby girls and boys, which makes them the perfect gift for when you don’t know all the details before the baby shower! I made this as a set for my gorgeous new godson (along with a little hat… pattern coming soon) using some deliciously soft French terry. This works equally well in stable knits, sweatshirt or microfleece, or even thicker sweater knits.
This is a pattern designed for those who don’t require comprehensive construction directions. Basic instructions, some recommendations, and all critical pattern pieces are provided, but construction techniques and design considerations are at your discretion. Get in touch with pictures of your finished projects and details of your design choices… I plan to featured and link to inspiring creations here at thimble pie.
Garments made with this pattern may be sold for profit. I only require that you give design credit to thimblepie.com with a link online [Pattern designed by thimblepie.com.] or in print on product labeling for in-person sales.
Don’t miss a new pattern release! Upcoming patterns will be completely free on the day they are released, and available for a very reasonable price after that. Subscribe by email to stay in the know!
